Eight companies in Washington state-led delegation join at least 10 other local firms exhibiting independently at world’s largest medical industry trade show.
OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Washington State Department of Commerce heads to Dusseldorf, Germany next week to showcase innovative technologies from the state’s life sciences industry at MEDICA, the largest trade show in the world for the medical sector.
Washington’s life science and global health sector is a vibrant hive of more than 1,000 companies across the state, employing 98,000 workers. Additionally, the state’s powerful technology sector, with some 14,000 tech companies, offers a rich environment for collaboration with life science and global health organizations throughout the world.
Eight companies make up the Commerce delegation, including Seattle-based Shift Labs, whose DripAssist infusion device recently was honored as one of the 12 most important health innovations of 2016 by Popular Science magazine. Others exhibiting or represented in the Choose Washington booth at the show are amfit®, Vancouver; beneSol ™, Bainbridge Island; eng3 Life Science Technology, Seattle; Mobile Workforce, Inc., Port Orchard; Peripheral Visions, Inc., Auburn; Statcorp Medical, Snoqualmie; and Therapeutic Dimensions, Spokane.
Commerce delegation organizers estimate at least 10 other firms doing business in Washington state will also be exhibiting on their own at this important global conference covering electromedicine, information and communications technology, physiotherapy, lab equipment and diagnostics, consumer goods and more. More than 130,000 attendees are expected from at least 120 countries.

Support includes help promoting their products and services to potential partners and buyers, and five of the companies will take advantage of reimbursement-style vouchers through the State Trade Expansion Program (STEP) funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
