Interbay Public Advisory Committee to study possible reuse of Seattle facility

OLYMPIA, Wash. — The Washington Department of Commerce Interbay Public Development Advisory Committee will hold its first meeting Sept.18 to study possible reuses for the current site of the Washington National Guard Armory in Seattle.

The state legislature directed Commerce to convene the Interbay Public Development Advisory Committee to work in collaboration with the Military Department to explore the potential uses of the state-owned property in Seattle’s Ballard-Interbay manufacturing industrial center if resources were to be made available to allow the Guard to relocate to a different site.

The committee will make recommendations regarding the highest public benefit and future economic development uses for the Interbay site, and will make resource recommendations to assist the Washington National Guard in its possible relocation.

The committee will hold its first special meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 18 from 9 a.m. – noon at the Washington National Guard Armory located at 1601 W. Armory Way, Seattle, WA 98119.

The meeting agenda, along with other committee information, is available on the Commerce website at www.commerce.wa.gov/interbay.  For further information, contact Interbay Project Manager Sean Ardussi at 360-725-5039.
