The Washington Electric Vehicle Charging Program (WAEVCP) provides competitive grants to install electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across Washington state. WAEVCP is the state’s community-based EV charging funding program, funding multifamily residential, publicly accessible, fleet, and workplace charging to fill gaps from private investment.
- WAEVCP Round 1 (WAEVCP 1) awarded $98.4 million to install more than 5,000 charging ports across the state.
- Many projects are now complete and powering EVs. See WAEVCP Round 1 project information on the program dashboard (PowerBI).
- WAEVCP Round 2 (WAEVCP2) awarded $37.3 million to install more than 700 charging ports across the state.
Funding opportunities
Currently there are no open EV charging funding opportunities through WAEVCP. Future funding opportunities are dependent on funding appropriations from the Legislature. The next legislative session will begin in January 2027. Funding updates will be posted to this website.
Meantime, we encourage you to work with your local utility to identify if any rebates are available for your project. We also encourage you to look for open funding opportunities from our colleagues at the Department of Ecology and the Department of Transportation.
