Applications will be accepted from October 6 – December 18, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. PT.
How to apply
- Carefully review program requirements and the application process, described in the RFA.
- Create an application account
- Identify optimal project sites using the mapping tool
- Gather application materials, including:
- Lead applicant information, site host letters of support, site designs, budget, etc.
- Attend a pre-application conference.
- Complete and submit all application materials through the grant application portal.
- Note: Applicants with more than 20 sites must email the RFA Coordinator at least 14 days prior to application deadline to set-up technical accommodations.
Who can apply
Public agencies, tribal entities, retail electric utilities, nonprofits, and private entities. Private entities have additional requirements to apply, described in the RFA documents. Not all entities are eligible for all funding categories.
Funding categories
- Standard projects:
- Multifamily residential
- Public charging
- Fleet/workplace (tribal and rural public agencies only)
- Innovation projects
- Site design projects
Funding amounts
Applicants will be eligible for up to:
- Standard projects:
- Low-power L2: $5,000 per port
- Standard L2: $12,500 per port
- L3: $150,000 per port
- Innovation projects: variable, no more than $1.5 million per project
- Site design projects: $25,000 per applicant

- Issue Request for Applications: October 6, 2025
- Applicants’ Conference 1: October 15, 2025, 10:00 a.m. PT
- Applicants’ Conference 2: October 21, 2025, 10:00 a.m. PT
- Applicants’ Conference 3: November 4, 2025, 10:00 a.m. PT
- Tribal Applicants’ Conference: October 14, 2025, 10:00 a.m. PT
- Question and answer period: October 6 – December 10, 2025
- Answers issued no later than December 11, 2025
- Applications due: December 18, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. PT
- Evaluation: December 19, 2025 – January 21, 2026
- Announce “Apparent Successful Applicant” and send notification via e-mail to unsuccessful Applicants: January 23, 2026
- Hold debriefing conferences (if requested): January 31, 2026
- Negotiate contract: February – April 2026
- Earliest date contract may be signed: February 11, 2026
Applicant’s conference
Register for the conference via the following links or request a link from the RFA Coordinator:
- Register for the October 15 applicant’s conference – 10 a.m.
- Register for the October 21 applicant’s conference – 10 a.m.
- Register for the November 4 applicant’s conference – 10 a.m.
All prospective Applicants are encouraged to attend; however, attendance is not mandatory. The same information will be presented at all Applicant conferences. A copy of the slides and a recording of the conference will be posted in the Box account.
The Tribal Applicants’ Conference will be restricted exclusively to tribal participants. Tribal applicants may attend the October 14 tribal applicant’s conference or request the conference link from the RFA coordinator, EVCharging@Commerce.WA.gov.
