The Washington Electric Vehicle Charging Program (WAEVCP) provides competitive grants to install electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across Washington state.
- WAEVCP Round 1 (WAEVCP 1) awarded $98.4 million to install more than 5,000 charging ports across the state.
- Many projects are now complete and powering EVs. See WAEVCP Round 1 project information on the program dashboard (Tableau).
Upcoming funding opportunities
WAEVCP Rounds 2 (WAEVCP 2) and 3 (WAEVCP 3) will award at least $19.4 million, funded by Washington’s Climate Commitment Act and authorized in the 2025-2027 capital budget.
Commerce received input from more than 80 survey responses and more than 130 listening session participants. We’re now working to finalize program design based on that feedback.
