The Washington Electric Vehicle Charging Program (WAEVCP) provides competitive grants to install electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across Washington state.
- WAEVCP Round 1 (WAEVCP 1) awarded $98.4 million to install more than 5,000 charging ports across the state.

Upcoming funding opportunities
WAEVCP Rounds 2 (WAEVCP 2) and 3 (WAEVCP 3) will award at least $19.4 million, funded by Washington’s Climate Commitment Act and authorized in the 2025-2027 capital budget.
Expected application rounds
- WAEVCP 2: September 2-November 19, 2025
- WAEVCP 3: Spring 2026
How to submit feedback
Commerce is seeking public feedback on program design before launching the final application. Provide your input by:
- Reviewing draft program documents (Box) to understand currently proposed program information, including eligibility, grant amounts, scoring criteria and requirements.
- Use our mapping tool to see how the site selection portion of applications will be scored.
- Application period is tentatively scheduled to open on September 2, 2025.
Provide feedback by Aug. 8:

- Register to attend our August 7 public listening session at 10 a.m. (Zoom)
Who can apply
Public agencies, tribal entities, retail electric utilities, community-based nonprofits, and private entities. Private entities will have additional requirements to apply.
