Washington Statewide Reentry Council is seeking new council members – Updated April 2026

The Washington Statewide Reentry Council is currently seeking applicants supporting their communities to fill four open council seats. These positions will contribute to statewide efforts improving reentry outcomes through cross-agency collaboration and system-level policy guidance.

What we do

The Statewide Reentry Council was formed in 2016 to advocate for Washington state laws, investments and attitudes that improve reentry outcomes, increase public safety and build systems that are more humane and restorative.

Open Council seats

  • Position number 3: Statewide organization representing community & technical colleges
  • Position number 10: Representing a faith-based organization
  • Position number 13: Community leader
  • Position number 21: Experience as a survivor of crime or victim of crime

You do not need lived experience with incarceration to apply for these positions.

How to apply

There are two steps required to apply to the Statewide Reentry Council.

  • Step 1: Fill out an online form through the Governor Bob Ferguson’s website. The application process takes approximately one hour. We recommend filling out this form on a desktop or laptop computer.
    • Under “Board information”, please choose “Statewide Reentry Council, Washington”
    • Under “Position you are interested”, choose either Position #10 (bottom of the first page of options) or Position #21 (top of third page of options)
  • Step 2: Submit an email of interest and biography to the Reentry Council’s Recruitment Subcommittee. In this letter, please include:
    • Your reasons for wanting to join the Council
    • How your experience or background would contribute to advancing its mission
