Transportation electrification open funding opportunities for July 2026

Apply for WA Dept. of Transportation — Green Transportation Capital Grants

  • Who can apply: Transit agencies.
  • Qualifying projects: Capital projects that reduce the carbon impact of the Washington transportation system.
  • Total funding amount: $31.3 million.
  • Application due date: Applications are due 3 p.m., Aug. 18, 2026.

Apply for the WA Dept. of Ecology — Charge Where You Are Program

  • Who can apply: Organizations licensed in Washington including state, local, or tribal governments, and related entities.
  • Qualifying projects: Level 3 (DCFC) public access chargers, or public agency light-duty fleet charging. Level 2 public access chargers, residential multi-unit dwelling chargers or workplace charging.
  • Total funding amount: Approximately $8 million. $2 million for Level 2 projects, and $6 million for Level 3 projects.
  • Application due date: Applications due by July 9, 2026.

WA Dept. of Transportation — WE-Bike e-bike Rebate Program

  • Who can apply: People living in Washington, ages 16 and up.
  • Qualifying expenses: Rebate can be used for qualifying e-bikes, e-cargo bikes and adaptive e-bikes.
  • Total funding amount: $7 million.
  • Program end date: March 29, 2027.

Apply for the WA Dept. of Transportation — Washington Zero Emission Incentive Program (WAZIP)

  • Who can apply: Business, nonprofit, tribal nation or government entities that are based in Washington and have operated in Washington for at least one year. Check the website for other requirements.
  • Qualifying projects: Point of sale discounts on medium- and heavy-duty zero-emission vehicles and equipment.
  • Total funding amount: More than $112 million.
  • Vouchers available: Fiscal year 25–27; check current funding availability.
