James Jaime, David Rhoden, Daniel J. Seydel, Richard Bogert and Nicole Grant to serve on state board promoting jobs, economic development
OLYMPIA, WA — Washington State Department of Commerce Director Brian Bonlender today announced the appointment of Steven Anderson to chair the Community Economic Revitalization Board (CERB). Anderson, who has been CERB vice chair since September 2013, has served on the board since 2009 and currently represents small business for the area east of the Columbia River. He is president and CEO of Meier Architecture & Engineering. Anderson has lived in the Tri-Cities more than 30 years is responsible for leadership and quality control, as well as business and financial management of the firm. His current CERB appointment term ends September 2, 2016.
Director Brian Bonlender also announced the following re-appointments:
James Jaime, representing federally recognized Indian Tribes, has served on CERB since July 2013. Jaime has been involved with tribal governance for more than 25 years, serving as Tribal Chair and Executive Director of the Quileute Tribe in LaPush, and Executive Director of the Hoh Tribe. Previously, he was Director of Energy for the Affiliated Tribes of the Northwest Indians.
David Rhoden, representing large business west of Cascades, has served on CERB since April 2011. Rhoden has 18 years of manufacturing and operations experience, the past nine of which have been in the aerospace industry. He is currently the VP of Operations at Esterline Control Systems – Korry in Everett.
Daniel J. Seydel, representing small business west of Puget Sound, has served on CERB since December 2012. Seydel owns The Platinum Group, a business development and business capacity building organization serving Washington state small businesses since 2001. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Pacific Lutheran University, and participates in continuing education courses around entrepreneurship, legislative policy, program development, construction and development.
Jaime, Rhoden, and Seydel will serve 3-year reappointment terms, ending September 2, 2017.
Richard Bogert was named to represent small business for the CERB region east of Cascades and west of Columbia River. Bogert owns the Bogert Group in Pasco. In 1983, he started Bogert Aviation as a service based business and shifted the company’s focus in 1986 to manufacturing o aircraft parts. The Bogert Group also manufactures marine products, commercial hydraulics, commercial jacks, and special items for the U.S Department of Defense.
Nicole Grant was named as CERB’s Public Representative. Grant is currently the Public Policy Advocate for Certified Electrical Workers of Washington, and a licensed journeymen electrician with 10 years of field experience. She has been active in public policy for the last five years. Nicole represents a workforce that lives in every county of Washington and because of her service to these workers she understands the need for growth and development in rural communities.
These new 3-year appointment terms will continue until September 2, 2017.
“The strong record of community engagement and knowledge of business and economic development that these members have will be a great contribution to CERB’s mission of creating jobs and driving business growth,” said Director Bonlender. “Voluntary participation on a state board such as CERB is one of the highest forms of civic engagement.”
