Governor’s Award for a Smart Partnership presented to Kenmore
As a part of the Governor’s Smart Communities Awards, Commerce presented the Smart Partnership award to the Kenmore city council for the Kenmore Public Boathouse on October 24, 2022.
Highlighting the amazing partnership the city formed with the Northshore School District, Kenmore Community Rowing Club and the George Pocock Rowing Foundation, the boathouse showcases the Governor’s commitment to preserving and protecting Washington’s quality of life by creating a public destination for schools, tourism and outdoors minded individuals to explore Washington’s beautiful waterways.
The project also serves as a model to Washington communities, showing how partnerships and community goals can lead to outstanding outcomes. Most notably in this case are the opportunities for all community members to access an otherwise exclusive activity.
