Save the Date: Interagency Workgroup on Youth Homelessness Meeting Sept. 25

Please share this invitation for a convening on Sept. 25 related to work directed by SSB 6560. The content of the bill can be found here and the bill report here. The bill directs the Department of Children, Youth and Families to work with the Office of Homeless Youth (OHY) and propose a plan to prevent young people from exiting publicly funded systems of care into unstable housing.

The Interagency Workgroup on Youth Homelessness is preparing to re-organize our committee structure to align with the publicly funded systems of care. The Sept. 25 meeting will kick off the exciting work ahead and give participants an opportunity to sign up for the working committees that will feed ideas to the overall plan directed by SSB 6560. Our hope is that, by the end of this meeting, people will commit to participate on working committees in the following areas:

  1. Child welfare
  2. Juvenile justice/county
  3. Juvenile justice/state
  4. Behavior health
  5. OHY programs
