Commerce will host listening sessions on Dec. 18 and 19 on Teams
The Washington State Department Commerce will hold listening sessions with multifamily housing providers to learn how we can better support less experienced funding applicants. We invite participants to share their experiences with project development, recall the difficulties encountered when seeking public funding, and show us where we are making wrong assumptions.
These listening sessions are for:
- Community representatives
- Developers that focus on underserved populations
We are especially interested to hear from representatives of organizations that have not yet been successful in securing awards from the Washington State Housing Trust Fund.
Listening session details
We will hold two sessions at different times to encourage broad attendance. Please register for the session you want to attend. After registering, you’ll receive an automatic email that contains a link to access on the date of your session.
- Thursday, December 18 (register on Teams)
- 1 to 3 p.m.
- Friday, Dec. 19 (register on Teams)
- 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The same content will be provided in both sessions. Our intent is to provide multiple opportunities to give us feedback, not to present different topics. Sessions are led by a community outreach specialist to share clear and unbiased communication with program staff.
We will record each session. After reviewing for accuracy, we will publish a transcript of each session on our website.
To make these sessions accessible to all, Commerce will provide live translation services upon request. Please contact us by 5 p.m. on Dec. 15 so we can arrange these services.
Your input matters!
Your feedback means a stronger, more authentic campaign for Washington residents.
We encourage you to register today. Depending on the level of response, we may need to put an limit on attendance for each session.
