WA Dept. of Ecology – Zero Emission School Bus and Fleet Transition Grant Program 2025-2027
- Who can apply: School bus owners who transport students to K-12 schools operated by the Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) for the zero-emission school bus projects, as well as cities, counties, tribes, public utility districts/co-ops, transit authorities, school districts including skills centers, state governments, nonprofit organizations, and local clean air agencies for the vocational training projects.
- Qualifying projects: Zero-emission school bus projects and vocational training projects.
- Total funding amount: Approximately $15 million.
- Application due date: April 23, 2026, 4 p.m.
WA Dept. of Transportation – Regional Mobility Grant
- Who can apply: Cities, counties, ports, public transit agencies, regional transit authorities, regional transportation planning organizations, and metropolitan planning organizations in Washington state.
- Qualifying projects: Charging equipment for electric vehicles.
- Please note, charger projects exclusively for single-occupancy vehicles are not eligible, as they do not result in a reduction of vehicle trips or vehicle miles travelled.
- Total funding amount: WSDOT has ~$62.6 million available in grant funding for the 2025-2027 biennium. The funding level for the 2027-2029 biennium will be determined during the 2027 legislative session.
- Application due date: Pre-applications are due by 3 p.m., March 3, 2026. Grant applications are due by 3 p.m., June 30, 2026.
