Interbay Advisory Committee Open House May 15

Next in a series of public open houses for project to study redevelopment of Washington National Guard Armory site in Seattle’s Interbay neighborhood

OLYMPIA, Wash. — The Washington Department of Commerce Interbay Public Development Advisory Committee will hold another in a series of community open houses from 6 – 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15 at the Ballard VFW Hall, 2812 NW Market St, Seattle, WA 98107.

The open house is an informal opportunity for the public to connect with committee members and other stakeholders for project updates and discussions. Formal public comments are invited at the beginning of the next regular Advisory Committee meeting on May 8. To reserve a place for prepared presentations (no more than three minutes in length) at the committee meeting, please RSVP to Commerce at interbay@commerce.wa.gov .

Launched in September 2018, the project is studying possible reuses for the current site of the Washington National Guard Armory in Seattle. Commerce is charged with convening the advisory committee in collaboration with the Military Department to explore the potential uses of the state-owned property in Seattle’s Ballard-Interbay manufacturing industrial center should resources be made available in the future to allow the Guard to relocate to a different site.

The committee will make recommendations regarding the highest public benefit and future economic development uses for the Interbay site, and will make resource recommendations to assist the Washington National Guard in its possible relocation.

The meeting agenda, along with other committee information, is available on the Commerce website at www.commerce.wa.gov/interbay.  For further information, contact Interbay Project Manager Sean Ardussi at 360-725-5039 or sign up for the project mailing list.
