HB1543 Clean Buildings rulemaking update

Thank you for your interest and participating in the rulemaking process. The rulemaking workshops concluded in September, and we received a substantial amount of feedback. We review and consider the questions and concerns raised by stakeholders. Some questions require in-depth discussion with experts, internal staff and the Assistant Attorney General.

We appreciate your patience as we work through this process. We hope to file the CR-102 soon. The CR-102 will include:

  • The proposed rules
  • The Small Business Economic Impact Statement
  • Details about the public hearing
  • Instructions on how to submit formal comments

The formal public comment period typically lasts at least 30 days and ends with a public hearing. After reviewing all comments and making any necessary changes, the agency will adopt the final version of the rule, which will be filed as a CR-103. The rules will be adopted 30 days after the filing of the CR-103 and will become part of the Washington Administrative Code (WAC). Be on the lookout for the CR-102 and CR-103 announcements in our Clean Buildings Bulletin
