Food Waste Management Evaluation

Commerce has accepted proposals to produce an evaluation of Washington state’s food waste and wasted food management system. This evaluation will support development and adoption of a food waste diversion and wasted food reduction plan as required under HB 1114.

The plan, being prepared by the Washington departments of Ecology, Health and Agriculture, must seek to achieve the goal of reducing annual food waste in the state by 50% by 2030.

The proposals application period has be reopened
