Governor Jay Inslee today announced that he is appointing Mary Margaret Haugen and Lisa Wellman to represent the general public on the Public Works Board.
“These candidates have strong records of community and civic involvement that will be a great contribution to the Board’s mission of assisting local governments with critical infrastructure needs,” Gov. Inslee said.
Mary Margaret Haugen has represented the 10th District in the Washington State Legislature for 30 years, including 10 years serving as Chair of the Senate Transportation Committee.
Lisa Wellman has served in executive level positions in Fortune 100 companies, led venture-funded entrepreneurial initiatives, and has served on the boards of nonprofit organizations. Wellman is involved in her community, serving six years on the Washington Community Alliance for Self Help, and five years as a mentor to MBA candidates at the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business. She also served on the Washington State Community Economic Revitalization Board (CERB) for six years.
The Public Works Board is a 13-member Governor-appointed state policy board that provides financing and technical assistance to help local governments meet critical infrastructure needs that address public health and safety, and environmental health.
