Commerce seeks proposals to study Washington’s overall energy transmission capacity needs and identify high-priority transmission corridors through an open and transparent process. The findings will help Washington establish the Washington Electric Transmission Authority (WETA) as directed by SSB 6355, Section 3. WETA will work to make the state’s energy transmission system more reliable, resilient and affordable.
Commerce intends to award one or multiple contracts for this project not to exceed $460,000.
Eligibility guidelines
Minimum qualifications include:
- A minimum of five years of demonstrated experience in electric system planning, transmission analysis, resource adequacy analysis, energy systems modeling, electricity market and financial analysis, or related fields.
- A minimum of three years of demonstrated experience conducting complex power system or clean energy transition analyses.
