Commerce is now accepting applications for Defense Community Compatibility Account (DCCA) grant funding for civilian-military compatibility projects near Washington’s military installations.
DCCA grants provide funds for compatible development and infrastructure projects that affect the economy, environment or quality of life opportunities for communities influenced by military presence. Example projects may include land acquisition, recovery and protection of endangered species, local infrastructure, affordable housing, retrofitting existing uses, economic development and job replacement.

- The application form and instructions are available online through ZoomGrants.
- A pre-application to determine eligibility must be submitted and approved before an application can be submitted.
- Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on May 4, 2026
Eligibility
Eligible applicants include:
- Local governments (including special purpose districts)
- Federally recognized Indian tribes
- Entities that have an agreement with a Washington state military installation under the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) Readiness and Environmental Protection Integration (REPI) program to address incompatible development
Pre-application meeting
Pre-application informational sessions will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026:
- 1 p.m. March 9 – DCCA grants pre-application meeting (Zoom)
- 2:30 p.m. March 9 – DCCA grants pre-application meeting for Tribal citizens (Zoom)
Office hours
