Commerce is seeking feedback on new draft guidance designed to help cities and counties implement regulations to incentivize affordable and sustainable building practices.
The draft guidance includes a fact sheet and checklist outlining requirements of HB 1183 (Chapter 139, Laws of 2025), including provisions for:
- Retrofits of existing buildings for residential use
- Accommodation for passive house certification requirements
- Facade modulation and upper-level setbacks on residential projects
- Affordable housing unit size
Both documents are available for public comment until Friday, Sept. 18.
