CRP funding opportunities

The Community Reinvestment Program (CRP) received $60 million for 2025–2027—including $50 million in new funds and up to $10 million in reallocated funds from the previous biennium.

Commerce is directed to distribute funds for the program areas listed in RCW 43.79.567: Community reinvestment account, in similar proportions to the 2023-2025 investment areas.

The legislature also defined by-and-for organizations in the Community Reinvestment Account for 2025-2027. This includes, but is not limited to, those operated by and for Black, Latine, Native American, Asian, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities.

Current funding opportunities

• Funding opportunities for CRP’s core services are now closed. CRP will announce its contracted community partners through 2027 over the next few months.

Investment areas

Economic Development – Housing and Workforce Strategies – $35.2 million

• Workforce strategies: $14.5 million
  • These investments are administered by the Employment Security Department in partnership with Local Workforce Development Councils.

• Housing and asset strategies: Currently estimated at $17.6 million
  • A competitive funding opportunity to assist people disproportionally experiencing wealth disparities with buying homes and building generational wealth.

• Small business technical assistance: $2.5 million
  • These investments are administered through Commerce’s Small Business Resiliency Network.

Violence prevention – $7 million

• Violence prevention funding will be locally controlled and administered by Local Advisory Teams (LATs).
• The Local Advisory Teams will make funding recommendations, shifting decision making to the local level for local solutions.
• A competitive funding opportunity closed on February 20, 2026.

Reentry services – $2.2 million

• A competitive funding opportunity was released on December 17, 2025. It closed on February 13, 2026.

Legal assistance – $1.8 million

• A competitive funding opportunity was released on December 18, 2025. It closed in early February.

2025-2027 Regional approach

For this funding cycle, Commerce is taking a regional approach to CRP funding. For every grant program, there will be only one grantee selected per region. Interested applicants may apply for multiple opportunities or regions.

2023-2025 Past funding awardees

The Washington State Legislature allocated a one-time $200 million investment to the Community Reinvestment Program (CRP) for the 2023–2025 biennium.
