Contracting with Commerce

Capital funding available for Building for the Arts program. Available to all Tribes and nonprofit organizations.

Commerce is now accepting applications for the 2027-2029 Youth Recreational Facilities grant program. These competitive grants can fund 25% of eligible capital costs, up to $1.2 million for non-residential facilities, providing recreational opportunities for youth (K-12), as long as they are integrated with social and/or educational services.

A minimum of $5.1 million is available through this program funding cycle from the Coronavirus Capital Project Fund (CPF) through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). Distressed communities or areas identified as Indian country may receive up to $5 million, while the maximum amount of funding that the PWB may provide other applicants is $2 million.

2027-2029 Public School Districts and Tribal Compact Schools funding available starting April 1, 2026.

The Department of Commerce will reopen the climate planning grant application period to distribute the remaining $7.5 million of grant funding to support communities conducting comprehensive planning for climate change.

Counties and cities with a 2027 periodic update deadline are eligible to receive periodic update grants.

The Washington State Department of Commerce is now accepting applications for capital projects that will prevent the closure of behavioral health facilities.
