“The CETCAP program has allowed us to go through a complicated, new process with relative ease. We would advise any municipalities considering being part of this program to sign up as soon as they can — we have found it to be an excellent experience.” – Kristen Lashua, Grant Writer and Administrator
Project overview
The City of Ridgefield, a municipality with 77 full time employees located in southern Washington, came to CETCAP seeking elective pay assistance to achieve the following long-term goals:
- Transitioning public works vehicles to EVs
- Establish electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at the public works building
- Complete energy-efficient retrofits to their public works building
Technical assistance provided
With the help of L4GG and filing partners Giraffe Financial, the City of Ridgefield was able to file for $15,000 in credits under the 45W: Commercial Clean Vehicle Credit, claiming $7,500 each for two Ford F-150 Lightning vehicles.
Elective Pay has sparked broader discussions about shifting more city vehicles to EVs and helped the city plan how to combine grant programs with tax credits to support future energy projects.
Washington Clean Energy Tax Credit Assistance Program (CETCAP)
In partnership with Lawyers for Good Government and Giraffe Financial, the Washington Clean Energy Tax Credit Assistance Program (CETCAP) team has helped more than 150 organizations statewide secure hundreds of thousands of dollars in tax credits by providing legal and filing assistance for hundreds of projects.
