Attend our Tribal Set-aside housing NOFA application workshop

Join the virtual workshop on Thursday, June 25

Each year, the Washington State Department of Commerce (Commerce) awards funding to affordable housing developers to expand Washington’s supply of affordable housing. In the 2025-2027 Capital Budget, the Washington State Legislature allocated at minimum 10% of the Housing Trust Fund funding for housing projects developed by tribes in Washington.

A total of approximately $25.7 million is being made available through this opportunity.

Commerce will be holding an application workshop offered specifically to federally recognized tribes in the State of Washington. This workshop pertains to our Tribal Set-Aside NOFA (#MHU2026-08), and is distinct from workshops discussing the traditional state Housing Trust Fund or other funding opportunities. The Tribal Set-Aside NOFA will be published on June 29. Applications will be due Sept. 28.

During the workshop:

  • Commerce will discuss the availability of funding, timeline of the application process, applicant eligibility requirements, and application scoring criteria
  • Applicants can ask questions and provide feedback about the process and application

Who should attend?

All federally recognized tribes and tribally designated housing entities who intend to apply for capital funding via Commerce are welcome and encouraged to attend, especially housing providers who have never received Commerce awards.
