Applications are due Sept. 21
The Washington State Department of Commerce is soliciting applications from multifamily affordable housing developers seeking capital financing from the Washington State Housing Trust Fund (HTF) and the federal HOME and National Housing Trust Fund (NHTF). Applications are due at 12 p.m. Pacific on Monday, September 21, 2026.
These funding opportunities are available through multiple notices for funding availability (NOFAs), which will make available more than $168.5 million for affordable multifamily housing development.
Please download and carefully review the linked NOFA documents for specific information regarding funding requirements and priorities, the process for submitting an application, and dates of significance.
- State Housing Trust Fund NOFA (#MHU-2026-06)
- This funding opportunity is seeking applications for all multifamily housing developments, including temporary or seasonal facilities housing migrant, seasonal, or temporary farmworkers.
- Housing Trust Fund IDD Set-Aside (#MHU-2026-07)
- This funding opportunity is soliciting applications for housing that serves those with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD).
- Federal HOME and NHTF NOFA (#MHU-2026-08)
- This funding opportunity will disburse funds in accordance to the goals stated in Washington state’s 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan (CONPLAN).
Eligible applicants are welcome to apply for all NOFAs.

Award announcements are anticipated in January 2027.
