Asset Building
Coalition Moves Forward
Washington Asset Building Coalition (WABC) came together in October, 2006 to expand asset building across the state. Over 50 organizations are involved and helped gain $2.8 million from the Legislature for 2007-09.
WABC is led by an Executive Team co-chaired by Paula Mahoney, Community Development Officer, WAMU and Larry Stuckart, Executive Director, Spokane Neighborhood Action Programs (SNAP). Coalition Work Teams are now working to advance the following four goal areas set by WABC last October:
Create a range of private and public prosperity products for asset building;
Develop and promote public and lending policies for asset building;
Market savings, smart borrowing and benefits like the EITC; and
Expand financial literacy opportunities and outcomes across the state
Details of the work plan can be found
