Please note:

  • The HTF provides funding for organizations only, including non-profit groups and local governments.  We cannot provide funds to individuals.  If you are a homeowner in danger of foreclosure, a good place to begin seeking assistance is the Washington Homeownership Center.  The website 4People.org provides an exhaustive list of resources for many housing-related issues.  If you are seeking assistance to purchase your first home, the Washington State Housing Finance Commission provides a variety of low-interest loans to those who qualify.

 Eligible Applicants to the Housing Trust Fund

  • Local governments and Housing Authorities
  • Regional support networks (as defined under RCW 71.24.025)
  • Nonprofit community or neighborhood-based organizations
  • Federally recognized Indian tribes
  • Regional or statewide nonprofit housing assistance organization

 About the Housing Trust Fund

Established in 1987, The Washington State Housing Trust Fund helps communities meet the housing needs of low-income and special needs populations.

The HTF provides funds to:

  • Support the construction, acquisition or rehabilitation of 4,500+ units every two years.
  • Create rental and homeownership opportunities in every region of the state for people with incomes below 80 percent of the average median income.
  • Support special needs housing for clients of Department of Social and Health Services and the Department of Health programs and services.
