Objective analysis of the fiscal impacts of legislation upon local governments.
WHAT'S NEW:
We may be hiring temporary staff or interns for the 2010 legislative session. For preliminary information, check out our Employment Opportunities page.
WHAT WE DO:
The Local Government Fiscal Note (LGFN) Program produces objective estimates of the potential financial impacts of proposed state legislation upon counties, cities and almost all special purpose districts. Our team of fiscal analysts researches almost any legislative issue that could change local government revenues or expenditures. We produce far and away the largest number of fiscal notes of any state agency. This is the program's 31st year of operations (Chapter 43.132 RCW).
I'm a local government stakeholder -- how do I give input into a fiscal note on a bill of interest to me?
A list of all published local government fiscal notes can be found at the Office of Financial Management site to the left. A report listing all the requests we've received so far can be found here.
