Our purchasing team provides procurement expertise and coordinates the purchase of goods and services to meet the needs of Commerce’s programs. We ensure that agency purchasing activities and practices comply with internal and statewide policies, procedures and guidelines and that public money is spent wisely.

We track the agency’s assets, conducting incremental inventories.  We also oversee the surplus and disposal of all of Commerce’s assets by we implementing and following procedures for their smooth transition from our agency. 

With one staff member, Commerce's purchasing office is a gateway for emphasis on responsibility and the stewardship of state money.  We continually strive to provide excellent customer service in purchasing, consultation, and asset tracking.  Another part of our services is the refinement of user-friendly purchasing tools used by Commerce staff, staying current with Commerce's needs.

The team of procurement and supply specialists has been with Commerce for over 15 years.  Because of this long service, we bring a historical view to the agency's activities; this view enables us to share past successful practices and help ensure future successes.
