Children and Families of Incarcerated Parents Program

In 2005, the Legislature passed Substitute House Bill 1426 requiring interagency planning to provide services and supports for children of incarcerated parents in Washington. The 2007 Legislature required more planning for children and families and to maintain family connections when parents are incarcerated through Engrossed Second Substitute House Bill 1422 in 2007. That bill established an advisory committee that we staff which reports to the Legislature annually in January.
