Homeownership

Applicant Eligibility

The HTF Homeownership Program provides funding for organizations only, including non-profit groups and local governments. We cannot provide funds to Individual homeowners. If you are a homeowner in danger of foreclosure, please contact the Washington State Foreclosure Mediation Program.  If you are looking for assistance in purchasing a home, a good place to begin seeking assistance is the Washington Homeownership Center. The website 4People.org provides an exhaustive list of resources for many housing-related issues. If you are seeking assistance to purchase your first home, the Washington State Housing Finance Commission provides a variety of low-interest loans to those who qualify.

An Organizational Capacity Assessment is now required for any organization intending to apply for HTF Homeownership Program funding. If your organization has not previously undergone an Organizational Capacity Assessment with HTF, request an assessment as soon as possible. Download the Organizational Capacity Assessment Request Form below. If your organization is found to possess sufficient capacity, you will receive written approval to submit a Stage One Application.

Refer to Chapter Eight of the HTF Handbook for detailed information on HTF's Homeownership funding process.

WSQA Assessment Required Starting in 2011

Beginning in 2011, any organizations applying to the Housing Trust Fund who have received over $500,000 during the previous calendar year from state housing-related funding sources, including the Housing Trust Fund, must apply to the Washington State Quality Award program for an independent assessment of their quality management, accountability, and performance system once every three years, as required under RCW 43.185C.210.
