Washington State Affordable Housing Advisory Board (AHAB) advises the Department of Commerce on housing and housing-related issues. AHAB has 22 members representing a variety of interests related to affordable housing. Nineteen are appointed by the Governor for four-year terms.
In February 2006, Governor Christine Gregoire established the Interagency Council on Homelessness (ICH) (RCW 43.185C.710) which "shall work to create greater levels of interagency coordination and to coordinate state agency efforts with the efforts of state and local entities addressing homelessness." The committee consists of "policy level representatives of the following entities: (a) the Department of Commerce; (b) the Department of Corrections (DOC); (c) the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS); (d) the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA); and (e) the Department of Health (DOH)."
