Seeking Your Input on the 2012 Action Plan for WA State’s HUD Funds

The draft Action Plan for Washington State’s 2012 formula funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is available for public comment from April 5 to May 5, 2012. The Action Plan is the annual amendment to the state’s 2010-2014 Consolidated Plan that determines priorities, establishes strategic goals, and allocates resources for the state Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership (HOME), Emergency Shelter Grants (ESG), and the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) programs.

    2011 Action Plan of the 2010-2014 Consolidated Plan 

    The Consolidated Plan determines priorities, establishes strategic goals, and allocates resources for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funded programs administered by the state, namely: the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership (HOME), Emergency Shelter Grants (ESG), and the Housing Opportunities for Persons With Aids (HOPWA) programs. The 2011 Action Plan updates the 5-year Consolidated Plan for the 2011 program year.

    Commerce's 5 Year Consolidated Plan and 2010 Action Plan for Use of HUD Funds
     
    The Consolidated Plan determines priorities, establishes strategic goals, and allocates resources for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funded programs administered by the state, namely: the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership (HOME), Emergency Shelter Grants (ESG), and the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) programs. 
     
    The required elements of the state’s Consolidated Plan include:
  • An assessment of housing and community development needs for the ensuing five-year period;
  • An analysis of the state’s housing markets; 
  • A discussion of the state’s strategies, priority needs, and objectives for housing and community development activities; and,
  • An action plan that describes the state’s method for distribution of 2010 funds expected to be received from HUD.
