2010 CDBG General Purpose Grant Applications Due January 21, 2010   The Washington State CDBG program is offering General Purpose Grants for infrastructure, community facility, microenterprise assistance, and housing rehabilitation activities to rural (non-entitlement) local governments.  For more information and application materials, click below:  2010 General Purpose Grants   List of Rural Local Governments Served by the State CDBG Program 2010 CDBG Planning-Only Grant Applications Available in February 2010   The Washington State CDBG program will make Planning-Only Grant application handbooks available in February 2010 and begin accepting applications in March 2010.  Applications are accepted throughout the year on a funds available basis.  Planning-Only Grants can fund infrastructure system plans, capital facility plans, community facility feasibility reports, affordable housing assessments and other priority plans from rural (non-entitlement) local governments.  For more information and application materials, click below: 2010 Planning-Only Grants  List of Rural Local Governments Served by the State CDBG Program CDBG Recovery Grants Awarded and Projects Underway   The Washington State Department of Commerce has awarded nearly $4 million in recovery grants to 6 rural communities across the state through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.  These construction projects were selected from 41 applications and approved by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).  They create jobs, promote energy efficiency in essential public and community facilities, and lay the foundation for stronger local economies.  For more info on the projects funded, click below: List of CDBG Recovery Grant Projects Funded  The 2010-2014 Consolidated Plan and 2010 Action Plan Submitted to HUD   This 5-year plan determines priorities, establishes strategic goals, and allocates resources for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funded programs administered by the state, namely: the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership (HOME), Emergency Shelter Grants (ESG), and the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) programs.  For more information or a copy of the Plan, click below: 2010-2014 Consolidated Plan and 2010 Action Plan  The application materials and CDBG planning documents are available in hard copy or in alternative format, upon request.  To request the documents in hard copy or alternative format, contact Janea Eddy at janeae@cted.wa.gov, (360) 725-3006, or mail to CDBG, PO Box 42525, Olympia WA 98504-2525.
