Community Behavioral Health Rental Assistance (CBRA)
The Community Behavioral Health Rental Assistance (CBRA) program provides a long-term rental subsidy for high-risk individuals and households with behavioral health conditions. When combined with programs offering long-term supportive services provided by our partners, highly vulnerable persons with complex behavioral health needs have opportunities to live independently in communities of their choice. Program partners include the Department of Behavioral Health and Recovery (DBHR) at the Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) and the Aging and Long-Term Supports Administration (ALTSA) at the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS).

Grantee Materials
“CBRA Program Orientation”
Become familiar with the basics of the CBRA program, including what it is, who it serves, what types of expenses are eligible, and the expectations for program staff. It also includes questions from program staff members. New program staff should view.

Commerce staff reviews significant changes in the SFY23 CBRA guidelines, including priority population expansion, new eligibility and recertification criteria, and additions to emergency housing subsidy allowances.

Learn the ins and outs of data quality and performance requirements, including what they are, how to select performance targets, setting and monitoring subgrantee performance, and ensuring quality data. All staff working with CBRA subsidies, including administrative, fiscal, program staff, and Leads, should attend!
